10 minutes of TLC
You are a Warrior! You run, you mountain bike, you hike, you do amazing push ups, you lift weights, you squat low, you jump high, you play golf, you swim, and you look amazing. But with all that effort and repetitive motion, you are continually stressing your body. In most instances, exercise is a good stress on your body, but as we know too much of a good thing can lead to problems.
There are many ways to counter the effects of that good exercise stress and make sure that we don't overdo it and reap all the benefits of the hard work; recovery days, adequate sleep, good nutritional habits, massage, foam rolling, etc. One of the easiest things you can add to your self care routine is some active isolated stretching. It is free, takes 10 minutes or less for the short version, and can be done while you are watching TV or listening to the news. In other words, no excuses!
As many of you know, Phil Wharton is our favorite go-to person for how to take care of our bodies. He has helped numerous athletes overcome injuries and pain that they thought would be the end of their careers. One of his most recommended methods for dealing with flexibility or mobility imbalances, and joint or back pain is active isolated stretching. Click on the following link to view his Intro Flex Program. Add it to your daily routine and we know you will see, or feel, results!
